Please join us as we celebrate the 2021-22 Fellows and honor our Servant Leader of the Year, Betty Nunnally!

ASF Servant Leader of the Year 2022

This award is given annually to an individual who focuses not on self but service and exemplifies Schweitzer’s philosophy to "make one’s life their argument.”  Betty has a true servant's heart having served the clients of Star of Hope for 31 years. For most of that time, she was the Sr. Vice President of Programs where she managed all client programs at Star of Hope.  Responsibilities included strategic planning, staffing, budgeting, and ensuring quality of services in all Star of Hope facilities: the Men’s Development Center, Women and Families Development Center, New Haven, New Heights and The New Horizons Programs.  She was also responsible for Star of Hope’s Work Force Development and Volunteer Programs.

Betty received her BA in psychology from Loyola University of New Orleans and her MBA with concentrations in Marketing and Finance from the University of St. Thomas.  Betty currently serves on the Houston Center for Recovery Board which governs the Houston Center for Sobriety and on the HR Committee of the Board for Catholic Charities.
